Buzzing goodness at Wild Honey

Was out celebrating my birthday on a very early Saturday morning (I usually don't wake up so early over the weekends). And it was to a place where I've never been to. Its a lovely recommendation planned by my dear girlfriend and also a part of the surprise outing that she has planned for me.

When going en route to the place in question, I was greeted by a nice play of light refraction - rainbows.

We went into Mandarin Gallery and proceeded to Wild Honey.

That's the signage!

The most amazing thing was the number of people waiting in queue. We were number 14 in line and we waited for about 1 hour and 20 minutes before it was our turn. When there were seats available, we opted to choose the counter seats (and hence no space for me to take out my DSLR), as we were running on a tight schedule. Now, let the pictures do the talking for the food we have ordered.

Donut with Strawberry filling

The donut that they serve up at the counter is wonderful - soft and fluffy on the inside and the strawberry jam is not too sweet.

ILoveNY – Bagels with Cheese, vine tomatoes and scrambled eggs

The IloveNY set is also another good dish to try if you ever head there - savoury scrambled eggs (with scallops?) and bagels that are not too tough to chew on.

Canadian – Pancakes with Bacon, Maple syrup and Berries jam

The pancakes are one of the few signature dishes they have here as well - fluffy pancakes with a special maple syrup that is not too thick (and not too sweet) with well grilled bacon.

Overall, a meal at Wild Honey is worth the trip (and wait) if you are looking for a filling breakfast together with your friends. The disappointing thing is, because there are limited seating space, they do not accept reservations; also, in order not to confuse yourself when ordering the food, it is best to check out the menu online prior to making your way down for a sumptuous breakfast.
